I Love My iPhone Goes Hi-Tech

In our continuing effort to improve the experience for our I Love My iPhone audience, I have added a utility called Blog Copy to this website.

BlogCopy is designed to monitor which chunks of text and which particular images our readers copy from this blog. If a reader highlights "iPhone 4 Sim Card is Missing Error" from this site and then pastes it into a new blog post of their own. I'll be alerted.

If a reader finds a phrase on this site like "iPhone 4 bugs and problems" and enters it into a search engine, I'll know. I'll have a much better idea of what images, phrases, and words are of most interest to my readers.

How Do I Get iPhone Photos onto My Computer?

Q. How can I get the photos that I take with my iPhone to my computer without emailing them?

A. The easiest way is to just plug the iPhone into your computer with the USB adapter (it's the same plug that goes into your dock and/or AC plug).

If you're using a Mac it's super easy because iPhoto will pop up and invite you to import all your photos.

If you're on a PC then your iPhone will show up as a device and you can openlike it's an external hard drive to copy the file.

New iPhone 4 at WalMart

If you wish to avoid the expected lines at the Apple and AT&T stores when the new iPhone 4 is released on June 24th, you have some options this year.

WalMart has announced that they will have the iPhone 4 on that date too. While WalMart has carried previous versions of the iPhone, this is the first time that they have had a new iPhone product on the official launch date.

WalMart is not the only retail alternative for the new iPhone however. It's rumored that Best Buy and Radio Shack will also have the new phone on June 24th too.

Apple has already announced that pre-orders for the iPhone 4 will start on June 15th.

Cool Apps - Now a Vision Test on the iPhone

There's an App for That!

iPhone owners in need of a vision test might want to look at a neat little app called Eye Test for iPhone. Very useful for people who need to do visual acuity testing routinely, this iPhone app is a portable vision testing tool for visual illusion, accuity, and color testing. Yes, you read correctly... there is now an iPhone application that will run a routine eye examination.

The test is surprisingly similar to what you get when you go to the eye doctor. You can set the testing distance to 0.5, 1.0, or 1.5 meters to measure your visual acuity and you can test to see if you're color blind. Then, the app lets you  record the results directly on the iPhone so you can see how they have changed over time.

I found Eye Test for iPhone interesting, but I'm not sure that everyone will find it helpful. It does work well if you're colorblind and the images that you get to go through to find patterns are pretty fun too. All in all it's a pretty slick little app that will do about everything you need - except for writing the prescription if it says you need glasses!
